Sharing DNA with Dragon, this sister 'social club' converts its coveted market square locale into a divey late-night hangout for young musicians, artists and bohemians - and we're here for it. Sleeping it off for most of the afternoon, SARP opens late and isn't fussed about missing out on tourist money, despite most of its seating being directly on the market square. The floors might be sticky, the cups might be chipped, the ashtrays might be full and the beer selection might be bad, but the unpretentious, alternative spirit of this place is what makes it unique. The small scruffy interior consists of the bar and a back room full of wobbly furnishings under a timber ceiling where concerts and other events take place, including dance club meetings and film screenings. The popular Wednesday night jam sessions are a joy, bringing some groovy, gangly energy to the market square, while DJs play old school bangers on Fri and Sat. Rumour is they even have snacks and one-pot dishes if you're desperate. Decidedly not aimed at tourists, but loved by travellers, if Poznań is feeling pretentious or just plain lifeless, look for the spark here.
