Above the Kotva cinema (the communist-era shopping centre) is this cool live music venue showing its cinematic and historical roots with much-signed walls. Good, cheap food adds to Joe’s allure, but the main reason folk head up here is for the free nightly music – various jazz trios, blues, rockabilly, even karaoke, and mostly Czech. The retractable roof adds air and a talking point if the tunes are not cool, as they sometimes aren’t.
