Prešeren's fair takes Kranj back in time to the image of the 19th century. Attracting more than 20,000 visitors this annual event is a wonderful sight where handicraft stalls, food, music and dancing fill the day. Look out for the main man, France Prešeren, you're likely to see him and other characters enjoying themselves throughout the day. Each year, the cultural holiday is accompanied by a prestigious meeting with Prešeren's prize-winners in the Prešeren theater, an event called Shod muz in Carniola Parnassia. Many of the museums and galleries will also be offering free entry.
