Established in 1951, it is a record of regional events from the period of 15th to 20th century. Over 60,000 exhibits are stored in its fund, including unique collections of weapons and firearms, orders a nd medals, military equipment, personal belongings, printed publications, clothing and objects from the city life, photographs and documents.
In all there are four expositions in four different locations "The Bulgarian Revival" in the old town, "Book publishing in Bulgaria in the second half of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century", "Union of Bulgaria 1885" and 'Museum of Modern History'. Free Admission on first Thursday of every month and on 3rd March, 6th September
