  Smilšu 20      (+371) 67 22 81 47     more than a year ago
Latvia is one of the most war-ravaged countries in Europe. Crusader, Swedish, Polish, German and Russian armies have all left their mark. This museum of photos and memorabilia documents the struggles of the 20th century, from WWI and the war for independence up to and including the Nazi and Soviet occupations of WWII. One exhibition chronicles the development of the Latvian army from WWI until 1940.
