Not all souvenirs need to be permanent items that you can hang on your wall, place on a shelf or attach to your refrigerator door. The people who already have all they want or need, namely grandparents, often feel the same revulsion to tacky clutter as they do technological gadgets. For Grandpa and Grandma we recommend a traditional taste of Latvia – gotiņas or little cows. These sweet treats made from condensed milk are a Latvian classic and although sweet and creamy, they rarely ever stick to your molars unless they’ve spent too much time on the shelf. Many companies make them, but those produced by Skrīveru saldumi (skriverusaldumi.lv) are among the best.
