Viesturs Park

Between Eksporta, Hanzas and Rūpniecības     more than a year ago
Peter the Great planted a tree here in 1721 and thus laid the foundation for this park. The tree no longer exists, but a memorial plaque still remains. Although song festivals are now celebrated in Mežaparks, the first song festival was held here in 1873. Infrequently visited and well-maintained, it's a good place to avoid crowds and the kids can enjoy a small playground.
