Roman Theatre

As time continues to pass (despite our best efforts), we find more and more that we like our old Roman theatres to be somewhat neglected and, well, rotting. These are amphitheatres that have been around for millennia after all, they shouldn’t be pristine. With that in mind the Cádiz Roman Theatre ticks our boxes, as it is a partially excavated and partially looked after piece of historic architecture that was only discovered in 1980. It was one of the largest of its time, although little remains in the modern age. It is accessed through a small gate near to the cathedral, and is entirely free to visit.
