Cluj is located in northern Transylvania, equidistant between Bucharest and Budapest. The easiest way to travel from the capital to Cluj is by plane: there are usually more than ten flights per day and prices are cheap. Romanian national carrier Tarom has the most flights, although both WizzAir and Blue Air operate at least two daily flights. The journey time is less than one hour, and prices - starting at just 39 lei for a one-way ticket with WizzAir - are often far cheaper than the dreaded train, which takes a bottom-numbing ten hours, although there is a night-train offering a sleeper service.
