The Scholars’ Stairs (Scara Scolarilor) lead up from the fortress and town centre up the hill to St. Nicholas Church, and are known as an interesting piece of mediaeval architecture as they are completely cover. This was to facilitate the way to school for children and teachers during wintertime, and many people still use this passage daily for the same purpose.
