The Capitoline Museums are owned and administered by the Municipality of Rome. Founded in 1471, the museums are housed in two buildings facing each other on the incredible Piazza del Campidoglio. They are home to an amazing collection of ancient Roman marble and bronze statues, elaborate frescoes, and Renaissance and medieval art. The She-Wolf and Lo Spinario are among the most important works on display at the museums that leave visitors speechless.
