Kaliningrad has a number of large shopping malls where you will find some international brands alongside well-known Russian names. The major shopping areas are actually in the centre of the city with the Europa and Clover malls both close to Victory Square. 

If you’re looking for souvenirs, then keep an eye out for marzipan, a traditional, locally-produced sweet that can be traced back to the 18th century – Konigsberg was famous for its marzipan. The number one souvenir though is amber and you will find it on offer all over the city both in high-class jewellers and in a collection of modern stalls next to the Amber Museum. Kaliningrad has the world’s largest reserves of amber, so if you don’t feel like paying for it, take a ride out to the Baltic coast and comb the beach yourself.
