China Club, opened by famous restaurateur Arkady Novikov. greets its clients with typical elite “Novikovian” flair, with stellar service and corresponding pricing, while the food does not disappoint. Though the name suggests otherwise, China Club serves not only Pan-Asian cuisine, such as sushi and Asian-inspired salads, but also more familiar European dishes, among them beef stroganoff, and even Peruvian fare. It is duly noted as catering to the European taste, as the fork and knife are ready at hand and bread is served before the meal. While overlooking the imperialistic touch of the umbrella name “China” and the decorative pictures of Asian women, this restaurant is worth the visit for its fair portions and inspired combinations.
