Formerly a hotel reserved especially for military officers, the Slavyanskaya has only recently decided to open its doors to all and has a series of upgrading plans underway. Best rooms of the selection are the spacious apartments, which have large living/dining rooms and Jacuzzi baths and the suites. Those on a budget have a wide variety of options, including a five-bed room - a bargain option for shoestring travellers in a group who don't want to be on bunk beds. The decor is a little old fashioned but sturdier and plusher than usual ex-Soviet hotels.
