In a dark, unassuming corridor somewhere in the back of One Door Community there is a door that you would probably not notice. Unless you were on the lookout for Take It Easy, Darling. It is a haven for down to earth lovers of good cocktails made from interesting alcohol. No overwhelming hipster vibes, no techno beats, no dancing, no wine or beer – just great cocktails crafted on homemade liquors, an impressive collection of rock vinyls to accompany any mood or time of the evening and a chilled ambiance that resembles a house party at a friend’s place. The bar staff even go so far as to say that these cocktails are healthy because no chemicals are used when making their signature “nastoikas” (liquers). The owners think that guests appreciate the opportunity to get to try an alternative to popular spirits that they likely won’t find anywhere else. If you like their homemade “nastoikas’, you can even buy a bottle (or two!) to take home with you or give as a gift to a discerning friend. The food menu is minimal but a cheese platter, quesadilla, mixed olives and a few other nibbles should do the trick if you’re feeling peckish. Sundays are usually more blues/jazz oriented, on Tuesdays there’s a pianist and every other Thursday a jazz singer performs live.
