An Orthodox church built in 1900-1904 in honour of a by then long dead Pavel I, the multi-domed cathedral is topped with an equal mix of Orthodox crosses and Imperial eagles. Like many places of worship the cathedral was neglected under Soviet rule and used for purposes wildly divergent from the original, including stints as a military repair shop and storage facility. Reconsecrated in 1991, regular services are now held and the interior contains choir space and a restored iconostasis with donated icons.
