At one of the most idyllic locations in the region you’ll find 'eating-house' De Dungense Brug. The setting is almost fairytale-like with a lot of green, water at a stone’s throw and a picturesque drawbridge. Unfortunately, one of the busiest motorways of the area lies just on the other side of the Zuid-Willemsvaart (the nearby canal). The French and Dutch cuisine served here seems to taste even better on the beautiful, spacious terrace.

Took a daytrip on the bike from 's-Hertogenbosch to this area. And i can recommend this to anybody. The bikeroads are flat and there are no cars near you. So even the not so experienced bikeriders -like us- will enjoy it. The surroundings are unbelievable pretty. This is Holland as we imagined it to be before we arived here. Amsterdam is basicly like any other European city: full of thugs, thieves, crime and overpriced places. Here we even forget twice to lock our bikes, but nobody even looked at them. Also the prices for food, museums and lodgings are much less then in or near Amsterdam. De Dungense Brug is one of those (rare) places where the waiters don't speak very good English but they apologized to me for it! While i was a stranger in their country not speaking their language!!! The fish was really great and the garden a hidden gem! Just enjoy this typical Dutch countryside without coming here for a specific reason.
