Thailand is the biggest rice exporter in the world and at Lai Thai, situated at a stone’s throw from the centre, the many meat, fish and chicken dishes contain a wide selection of rice varieties. The extremely friendly staff will happily tell you about the restaurant's spicy wok dishes, but the slightly high prices are most likely a reflection of the incredibly romantic atmosphere and not the decent, yet somewhat average food.
