Around 1500 black hacks roam the city streets so getting a cab isn’t a problem. These are licensed by Glasgow City Council, have a meter system and, unlike most cities, you pay the driver while in the cab. Flag them down or queue at a taxi stance - and if you’re heading towards a stance, don’t flag a cab as it won’t stop. Cabs can also be booked through private companies - they can’t be flagged down but tend to be a bit cheaper.
