Best Craft Beer Spots in Seville

more than a year ago
The craft beer scene in Seville is growing all the time, and we’re more than happy to find ourselves taken along for the ride. With an ever-growing roster of brew pubs, craft beer bars and your everyday tapas joints looking to stock something a little more interesting than ol’ Cruzcampo, Seville is a great place to go in search of the finest beer on the planet.

BierKraft

Hipsters get a bad name for some reason, but if places like Bierkraft keep popping up across Andalusia then we’re planting our flag firmly in the backyard of the hirsute and the creative. Over 300 (three hundred) types of beer, wine and vermouth await the prospective boozer, along with plenty of great food and some of the best coffee in town. We say that, no matter the quality of the caffeine we generally find ourselves perusing the beer menu when here…

Hops & Dreams

We’ve said it before, we’ll say it again ― if you’re putting a pun in your establishment’s moniker, we’re going to give it plenty of time. Hops & Dreams doesn’t need such gimmicks to grab our attention though, as this is a modern day beer paradise. A great selection of beer sidles up next to a fine menu that has plenty to offer the herbivore, making Hops & Dreams about as up to date as a culinary and craft beer spot can be.

Cervezas Río Azul

The home of artisanal brewing in Seville. It might not be the most central of places but Cervezas Río Azul deserves a visit, with its selection of tap beers that go perfectly with the pizzas, tapas and the rest. The terrace is one of the best drinking spots in the city too, a mecca for lovers of beer worldwide.

La Jerónima

Absolutely adorable. If you get excellent craft beer, friendlier-than-friendly staff, refreshing coffee together and add the secret ingredient that is books all around, we’re going to come knocking with Euros in our hands. La Jerónima is a great little place that brings the worlds of books and beer together, the perfect spot for a little afternoon tranquility or heated discussions about the state of modern Spanish literature. Brilliant.

Maquila Bar

We’re not supposed to have favourites, but we’re also supposed to be blunt and honest in our perspectives. Maquila is the only genuine brew pub in Seville (at least at the time of writing), has the best tap selection in the city and also serves some of the most magnificent tapas we’ve come across. This is an establishment that has perfected the middle ground between craft beer bar and gastro pub, and we can’t really imagine anything better than that. All the thumbs up, all of the marks out of 10.
