If you can make it on Broadway, you can make it anywhere. In bullfighting terms, if you can challenge the bull in Seville’s immense Plaza del Toros de la Real Maestranza, you can officially take a moment to yourself and say you’ve made it. This is the holy grail of bullfighting, the stage on which young matadors dream of at night, and a quite beautiful one at that. Built in the middle of the 18th century, the main facade is a gorgeous Baroque construction that hints at the immensity of what is to follow. This is the oldest bullring in Spain, the spiritual home of the tradition, and an absolute must-visit when in Andalusia. The season generally run from spring until autumn, so get your tickets and settle in.
