Shkodra's modest restaurant scene has very good options for local and international food. A nice twist to the Shkodran menu is the 'Malazeze' cuisine (Malezi means 'black mountains') from the mountain regions north of town and in Montenegro, which usually consist of grilled meat and fish. For the freshest fish dishes, visit the lakeside restaurants in Shiroka, just west of town.
