This former private clinic that once belonged to a certain Dr. Simonas Volpertas was built in 1930, supposedly to a design by the renowned German architect Erich Mendelsohn. Used as a secret Soviet hotel after the war, the building now belongs to the officially recognosed Jewish Community of Šiauliai.
