Whilst many of the shops are housed in the central shopping centre there are some smaller clusters to be found scattered along the main road and closer to the lake itself. Mainly geared towards the high numbers of tourists that visit the lake each year, the most popular items stocked are, of course, locally produced goods. You’ll find plenty of chocolate and honey related items, as well as lace from Idrija and felt slippers also make a wonderful gift. Souvenir shops outnumber other stores considerably, and with a whole range of goodies to choose from you’re sure to find the perfect gift or keepsake.
