Jelovica

This Natura 2000 site gets overlooked in favour of some of Bled’s other wonderful natural attractions, but there’s plenty to appreciate up here as well. A plateau on the southern side of Bled, it is covered in pine tree forests and a mass of endangered bird species. Arguably its most interesting site is the cave under Babji Zob, another of Slovenia’s fine line of mysterious underworlds.
