A rather brilliant place for those who understand the central role of the humble bee within the natural order of things as well as for those who simply enjoy eating honey, this busy centre is dedicated to the education, development, presentation and promotion of beekeeping and as such offers a wealth of activities for visitors. Focusing on the preservation and general well-being of the native Carniolian honey bee (of whom several thousand inhabit the centre’s viewable hives), the Beekeeping Education Centre of Gorenjska offers visitors the chance to taste different honey products, attend a multitude of bee-related workshops and, perhaps most importantly, an opportunity for children of all ages to switch off their portable computers for an hour or two and learn something important.
