A small, decidedly local establishment with a dinky stainless steel bar, fishing nets on the ceiling, a dash of sporting memorabilia and a portrait of Tito (who died just around the corner from here) on the wall. This is the kind of place where the keys for the toilets are kept behind the bar, and if any English is spoken it’s going to be spoken with difficulty. On the tourist trail it isn’t, but if that’s your kind of thing, and if you like meeting colourful characters over a cold bottle of local beer then this place offers an interesting insight into the ordinary world of the people who only go into the old town to fix the plumbing. Most interesting of all perhaps is the fact that the bar comes with its very own convenience store through the archway at the back.
