When you're located on one of the most famous streets in Ljubljana - and thus one of the most famous in the country - and manage to be the eponymous cafe, chances are you're going to be a local institution, and Cafe Trubar lives up to its reputation. Far enough removed from the heart of the old town centre to still attract a rather motley crew of patrons (in a good way), it's the perfect place to stop and experience what the entire city was like a decade or two ago. Come for the coffee, pivo, burek or ice cream, stay for the laid back vibes and whispers of nostalgia.
