Daktari

Sharing its name with the Swahili word for doctor, this place always cures us of any bad mood we're in. Located near the Puppet Theatre and the funicular railway to the Castle, Daktari is a labour of love that attracts an artistic crowd of all ages. The bar exudes an old-time ambience and charm that is a rarity these days: restored antique furniture, shelves full of books, a player piano in the corner and a stage that is occasionally used for live music sets, jam sessions, theatre, cabaret and an eclectic mix of other cultural events. Very cosy, very nice.
