If our parents ever came to visit us in Ljubljana, Dvor Tacen would be on the very short list of accommodation options we would consider booking for them. Located along the banks of the Sava river in the quaint village of Tacen some 8,5 km from the centre of the city, this centuries-old manor house has heaps of charm, large spacious rooms, modern amenities and an incredibly friendly and professional staff. The homemade buffet breakfast features mainly organic ingredients sourced from the surrounding countryside, which will give you plenty of energy for hiking up the nearby Šmarna Gora hill or heading to the world-class Diners Club for a round of golf (special packages are available). All this and it's still just a short bus (1 or 8) or taxi ride to the city centre.
