A unique offering in the international school scene, the European School Ljubljana has been open since 2018 and is located in an historic building in the centre of the city as part of the Ljubljana School Centre with 100 years of tradition. A public school initially established for EU institutions, the school offers a warm, friendly environment from kindergarten to the end of secondary school. The language of instruction is primarily English or Slovene, depending on the student's background, with 3rd (or 4th!) languages taught from 1st grade onwards. By mid-secondary school the school curriculum is taught in two languages and students graduate with the European Baccalaureate (EB) ensuring high standards of education a great launching pad for all European universities.
