An icon of contemporary Slovene design and prominent artist Oskar Kogoj has won numerous awards for his timeless works. Building on Slovenia’s rich design traditions Kogoj has developed his own approach, nature design, drawing inspiration and energy from natural forms to create unique works of art, from sculptures to designer functional pieces. Located in his mother’s renovated house in Miren, the gallery allows visitors to view where Kogoj comes from - many prominent works are on display as are his heritage and creative inspirations. The gallery also sell Kogoj’s creations, which make for stunning souvenirs and gifts, indeed the Slovenian government often presents them to visiting dignitaries. Parts of his collection can also be seen in Ljubljana, at the Laura Gallery and Leonardo Store (Maxi).
