At 1217m above sea level, Stari Vrh (Old Peak) sits in the hills between Škofja Loka and the Selška valley. This compact ski resort is accessible by road from nearby Škofja Loka (12km). Some 30km from Bled, the winding mountain road through Bohinj features beautiful panoramic views and makes for an ideal day trip. Stari Vrh attracts recreational skiers, especially beginners to intermediate/families, but also hosts some official FIS competitions. Most of the 12km of piste can be covered with artificial snow if mother nature is not cooperating with the natural stuff, and for post-piste refreshment there's a popular restaurant at the peak.
