The centre of Velenje's alternative scene, and the most popular place for young people to hang out at the weekends, Emce Plac is the result of cooperation between the three largest youth organisations in the city and is a cultural centre in its own right. Part bar/café, part art gallery and part concert venue, there's always something going on inside, and despite the cheap beer on tap, on all but the coldest nights there's often an even larger crowd gathered outside drinking their own store-bought booze.
