Sofia has seen a rapid expansion in the number and type of hotels on offer in the past 10 years and now boasts every type of accommodation from the familiar international 5 star names to backpacker hostels. Several more large hotels are in the works as it slowly becomes clear that not everyone necessarily wants to stay in the centre of Sofia and that there are many business travellers who simply want to stay as close as possible to their business park or the airport.
