One immediately feels relaxed even before having tried the treatments. On offer here are two salt rooms (one is especially for kids) and a float tank. There is an open space for smaller events and a small cafe/ shop area where you can just hang out and enjoy some refreshments. Halotherapy is getting very popular as the negatively charged ions in salt are said to improve our health and mood. Inhaling the salt vapour (which is especially projected into the room) can help reduce inflammation and mucus in the lungs, improving respiratory conditions such as asthma allergies, bronchitis, sinus congestion as well as helping with certain skin conditions. The salt room treatments last 40 minutes for adults and costs 20 leva per adult. The room can hold up to 8 people but the session is private so you can go with your partner or friends, but the idea is to relax. You can use the time for reading, meditation or even gentle yoga.
The big attraction at metta is the flotation tank which is also known as Sensory Deprivation Tanks. This is an incredible experience, the sensation of floating for nearly an hour in pitch darkness and silence (it starts and ends with light and sounds of your choice) is really mind blowing the first time you float. Whatever else happens in that time, which at first seems like an eternity and then suddenly is all over, is very individual. "Being alone with your mind is a very odd feeling and it takes a while to get used to it" especially for those of us who lead very busy stressy lives, but it is probably all the more important for us to have this time. It is probably a good idea to read up on the internet a little before going for the experience. At metta the whole setup around the flotation experience is one of the privacy and tranquillity, leaving you in control whilst feeling supported at all times.
