The former Bulgarian state - owned Boyana Film Studios were privatised in 2007 and became the Nu Boyana Film Studios, currently one of the top film production facilities in Europe and probably the biggest employer in the local film industry. Apart from the many exciting changes in the production facilities in recent years, the studios have also become a popular event location and back in April 2020 (till October) the public can participate in official guided tours every Friday afternoon ( 3 time slots).
