The local community trawl this bustling open-air night market in the predominantly Muslim neighbourhood of Fordsburg for Bollywood films, pirated DVDs, jewellery, clothes, incense and spices. Irresistible aromas of Indian street foods fill the air with authentic samoosas, biriyanis and sizzling tikka kebabs to be found on just about every corner. Look out for the bakeries selling colourful 'sweetmeats', barbers offering Turkish shaves and the small shop selling freshly made sugar cane juice just off the main square.
