Andrea Burgener and Nick Gordon's culinary journey has taken them across the city, and they now a branch of The Leopard at Village Green in Greenside. The small deli packs a mighty punch, filled as it is with freshly produced take-home meals and a range of deli goods.

Their Melville restaurant The Leopard was a Joburg institution for years, much loved for celebrated chef and cookbook author Burgener's cheeky menu of innovative dishes made from fresh seasonal ingredients. The pair closed up in mid-2017 to focus instead on a catering business and for locals it's been a win as fans of Burgener's cooking style can now find a delicious selection of take-home dishes at their delis.

The Leopard has built a reputation for sourcing the finest locally produced ingredients and for focusing on sustainability. In the fridge you'll find a daily selection of heat-up or just go ahead and serve meals, so good you'll want to tell your guests you made them yourself (especially the parmesan, bean and artichoke dish, fantastic paneer dish plus comforting mac 'n cheese.)

On the shelves is a carefully sourced selection of the finest ingredients that Burgener herself uses in the kitchen and in the counter fridge a selection of freshly made salads. Shop for homemade preserves and sauces (The Leopard's winning Caesar salad dressing is a must, as is the Cinnamon Fudge Sauce – a superb dinner party gift) and a specialist selection of wine labels.

From 11:00–15:00 the delis also offer a small hot lunch takeaway menu that changes daily.
