One of the first department stores built in the world, Au Pont Rouge was founded in 1907 and then reopened after 108 years in 2015. The Imperial Family of Russia was amongst its first customers and now you can share their experience. Nowadays, Au Pont Rouge is a reflection of an eclectic, dynamic, bright and rhythmic city where innovation, culture and traditions play important roles. With a developed retail space of more than 4,000 sq. meters, Au Pont Rouge has a unique assortment of concepts, including a curated mix of Russian gifts, a unique beauty space and, of course, fashion. The store has a vibrant mix of the most exciting and relevant fashion brands alongside the hottest newcomers. As an added bonus, those who ask nicely can go on a tour of the roof and the Cupola!
The first floor was designed by the leading British architect Christopher Jenner, who embodied the best of Art Nouveau projects. The elevators and marble staircase were reconstructed according to the historical references to their original details. In interactive space where you can purchase designer clothes, footwear and accessories from makers like Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang, Damir Doma and Bao Bao Issey Miyake, as well as selective perfumery, special jewelry from Brazil, beautiful flowers, international magazines, exclusive Russian souvenirs (Raketa watches and Malevich style matryoshkas) and interior design and decoration items.
The second floor boasts the biggest book corner curated by Hermitage Museum Shop and the Paul Mitchell hair salon. New York architect Rafael de Cardenas designed the third floor and his laconic design serves an elaborate, aesthetic aim, expressed in three different ceiling patterns (they are seen from the street). Colored glass, metal and mirrors form a futuristic space that houses the brands that define each season trend and set the entire fashion industry tone. On level four young Russian designers and small shops have a unique opportunity to present their collections in the best store of St. Petersburg. Every square meter of Au Pont Rouge screams luxury but luxury need not be unaffordable! There is an entire floor dedicated to sales and clreance items and you can get up to 80% off some items which amounts to some serious savings.
