The bright and freshly painted yellow building of Symposium immediately stands out among the greyer ones on Dostoevskogo Street. In true St. Petersburg fashion, Symposium is more than just a café and restaurant leisurely sprawled over three floors. While it is also a gallery with busts of famous philosophers and photographs of famous writers and thinkers of the past centuries, the atmosphere remains light and cheerful with an abundance of color, big comfy couches and mirrored ceilings that offer endless selfie opportunities. The first floor is a café/bakery that’s great for a breakfast or informal lunch, the second floor is a traditional restaurant perfect for long evening talks over some European food and the third floor is a cigar lounge and events space.
