In essence, this is a place that lives up to its name. As far as eateries go, Teplo, meaning "warmth" in Russian, is truly a winner. Things are done here subtly and well. The understated homey decor, the thoroughly intelligent menu and the delightful service all make coming here feel like dropping by your best friend’s house and having a bite to eat in their living room or on their patio or in their kitchen, full of freshly baked pies and breads. Indeed wherever you end up eating, you’ll linger, eat, drink and put off leaving.

Casual tasty home cooking menu gracious staff laid back and comfy and comparatively inexpensive. A really nice break from the cycle of pricey formal meals while on vacation. The place was packed with a variety of tourists and locals.Definitely a keeper.

Spot on review - the "in your friends house" vibe was really successful and the waitresses super-cute; our main girl left earlier than we did and came by to say goodbye like a new friend would. Food was very good - succulent veal roast tasty fish cakes quality salmon competent sides - and wine and drinks were good too (and very good value for money). What this review doesn't convey is the absolute madness playroom style to some rooms (its a bigger place than it initially looks like) - the sofas we were seated in already hosted a smiling soft carrot and a happy soft broccoli and there is a room full of soft animals with a wigwam with a minibed inside it and a slide ... maybe meant for the kids but fun for grown-ups too. Another space had a nice grown-up sofa corner round a fireplace and there are some smarter tables too. Warmly recommended place.

Just back from st.pb. we ve had a splendid time. Really bad weather. Drizzel but smooth we walked every day(5) about 12 km. Hermitage of course(the interior is as interesting as the paintings. We were astonished about the conditions the paintings are held. In the sun(we didn t see)near the heating. )but see it.Then after a day of culture. The bar and the beer.(we are wine lovers but wine is unfortunately very expensive(25euro, and up a bottle in the restaurants)So now we come at TEPLO.We ve had dinner for 4!!! times. I am cooking the stars from heaven at home. It s my passion. But.... You can eat perfect for 50 euro without wine. The atmosphere is really fine and cozy. Do it and reservate!!.Wolter van den Ham
