Lotti is an unpretentious Swiss-style restaurant right next to Bahnhofstrasse. The casual interior with old metal advertising signs, a high ceiling, a comfy bar and wooden tables is charming, and so is the food. The rib-eye steak we had consisted of succulent beef raised in the Toggenburg region, the baked potato was perfectly soft inside and the cottage cheese and garden cress on top gave it an extra twist. We finished by digging in to a rhubarb mousse with fresh strawberries, which balanced the light acidity of the rhubarb nicely. The concept here is to share plates, so there are a handful of cold dishes as well as some from the charcoal grill and the oven. A pleasant outdoor area on Werdmühleplatz is on offer.
