The award winning restaurant closes at the end of 2019, but the bistro part remains open.
The view up here is awesome, and so is the food. Famed chef Vreni Giger offers top drawer fine dining high above Zurich and we ordered six of the 8-courses available, each with a recommended wine. Each of the courses was a carefully blended composition, from the veal tongue with river crustaceans and cauliflower to the venison accompanied by chanterelles, which earned a special mention from our taste buds. We finished our evening of explosive flavours with the frozen strawberry with woodruff and tapioca. As we so often experience in restaurants of this class, the service was a little too stiff for our liking, but it seems that this is still necessary to get top ratings from Michelin & Co. Personally we would prefer a more jovial atmosphere even when receiving award-winning cuisine, but to each his won. There's also a bistro section with simpler food and snacks if you're just here for the view (open 06:30 - 24:00).
