A carnivore-tastic new gastropub and live music venue in the pulsing heart of the Old Town. Whiplash speclialises in quality steaks (priced per 100g) and gourmet burgers. The service is very good and the decor simple, no frills, but the food is delicious - if somewhat pricey. Worth checking out if you have a craving for a juicy piece of sirloin or rump. If this place doesn't sate you - nothing will. There's a decent whisky choice too. Live bands regale diners at weekends, playing a range of genres from blues, rock and jazz. Arrive hungry.
