‘African glamour’ inspired this branch of the chic local restaurant and café chain Tashas. The decor is dramatically elegant, with lost of brass and bronze elements harking back to Joburg's origins as a city of gold, and adding atmosphere to what would otherwise be an uninteresting corner of a mall. Tables flow out onto the piazza and if you enter from indoors you also have the option of being seated in the private Flamingo Room (bookings required), for an additional R50 cover charge which includes a drink or an amuse bouche depending on the time of day.
Tashas' standard menu of hearty, fresh meals is complemented by a new signature menu which reflects this 'African glamour' theme, interesting twists on old African favourites, a host of fabulous dishes celebrating South African game, and a drool-worthy dessert menu.
