One of Tbilisi’s formerly best kept secrets, Gardenia Shevardnadze is a hill - top, German - style garden and tea house that makes for perfect lazy Sundays and atmospheric evening get - togethers alike. The owner, Zura Shevardnadze, received his degree in gardening in Germany and upon his return to Georgia decided to open “a garden for everyone.” Sprawled out on a beautifully curated piece of property, visitors can come and buy their own plants or spend time admiring the natural beauty of the gardens over an array of delicious cakes, juices, coffees and teas. The cafe also has great lunch and dinner options, with selections from exotic and interesting Georgian dishes that you just might not find anywhere else in Tbilisi at a very low price. Gardenia offers “Green Lessons” for children in decorative gardening, and also provides services in landscape architecture and event decoration.
