Bënça Aqueduct

Bënça     more than a year ago
The Ujësjellësi i Bënçës aqueduct spanning the valley near Bënça, just south of Tepelena, is a 19th century engineering marvel, built to supply a steady stream of fresh water to Ali Pasha's fortress town. An earthquake in the 1930s destroyed some of the original spans, which were rebuilt with less refined engineering techniques.
