First mentioned in the 17th century, the Church of São Lourenço in Loulé is another magnificent piece of pious architecture in the Algarve, a white-washed charmer with grace on the outside and elegance waiting within. It is best known for its intricate azulejo tiles, depicting the life and times of its patron, Saint Lawrence of Rome.
