The more dramatic the name, the better. Pego do Inferno (Pit of Hell, to be exact) is a waterfall and lake combo found not too far from Tavira, once known as the ‘secret waterfall’ but definitely not so secret anymore. This place gets all sorts of packed when the weather is good and understandably so. It gets quite perilous up above (especially for young ones) so do keep your wits about you.To visit, head towards St Margarida from Tavira and follow the signs for Pego do Inferno.
